Wrong MMDigest Transmitted
By Robbie Rhodes

"This is deja vu with a vengeance!" reported John Phillips from
Australia. No kidding!

Mere minutes after sent the wrong file last night I received a note from
Dean Randall about it (he lives here on the West Coast of the States).
In less time than it takes to tell the story a duplicate of 990204
MMDigest was speeding around the world to all MMDers.

I telephoned Jody and told him of my error; he said, "I've done it
myself, too." He halted the processes which automatically enter the
new Digest into the indexed MMD Archive (Whew! What confusion that
could be!), and then we simply sent the proper file for 990214 MMDigest.

Newspaper editors worry about using the wrong date and mixing up page
numbers, but I wager it's seldom that a complete newspaper is duplicated,
tens days apart!
