Unusual Holes in Music Rolls
By Bill Chapman

This may have been discussed before on MMD. In "My Isle of Golden
Dreams" (not one of my favorites) there is an unusual perforation in
the extreme treble. It's on a cheap 49-cent 88-note roll of unknown
manufacture.

The perf occurs every 3.25" and is about 1/8" long. I wonder if anyone
else has encountered this oddity?

Bill Chapman

[ That sounds like the hole which synchronized the stencil belt with
[ the music roll. I've seen it on Columbia/Capitol rolls. -- Robbie
