Unusual Rythmodik Roll With Printed Music Staff
By Dale F. Rowe

Hey John, Greetings from The Bronx! (Actually, I'm presently upstate.)
I don't know if this is of any help to you but, in regards to your
article in 200922 MMD, years ago when I was asked to sort and rearrange
a storeroom at a Manhattan piano store, I came across an Ampico roll
with a music staff printed on the underside of the note paper.

As I recall the printing may have been in green ink. I can't recall
what the selection was or the artist (it could very well be the same
selection of your inquiry).

At the time I had assumed that it was a common practice for a music
staff to be printed on the underside of the note paper, and at a later
date I had shown the roll to a collector looking through the roll
collection. That person promptly purchased the roll in question.
(If my memory serves me correctly, Rythmodik rolls were the 88-note
counterpart to the Ampico rolls.)

Hope this might be of some help to you.
