Clarence Hickman #12 - Awards & Societies

Awards Received

  1945 Dec 3 -- Received Certificate of Appreciation from War Department
for outstanding services rendered to the Rocket Development Program of
the Ordinance Department.

  1946 June -- Received Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from Clark
University for my contributions to rocket developments.

  1948 June 22 -- Received Presidential Medal For Merit Award for Rocket
Development Services.  On the same day I also received a watch from my
friend and associate, Mr. Stoddard.  A history of this watch and the
Medal For Merit Citation will be given at the end of this biography.

  1948 June 27 -- Received Honorary Doctor's Degree from Teela-Wooket
Archery School of which I was Dean for many years.

  1950 Jan 1 -- Was made Honorary Member of Life Member Club of
Telephone Pioneers of America.

  1950 Aug -- Received Maurice Thompson Medal of Honor from The National
Archery Association for Technical contributions to the Sport of Archery.

  1954 Oct 10 -- Received the John Price Wetherill Medal from
The Franklin Institute for contributions to Rocketry, Telephony, Sound
Recording, Archery and other fields.

    35 years, made the presentation.
