Help Identify Photo of Player Device
By Andy Taylor

Hi Larry and MMD readers,

I viewed the photo at the MMd web site. I think this is a photograph from
one of the instruction seminars hosted by The Standard pneumatic action
company.

Standard attempted to educate the piano tuners about the workings of the
player action. They held these seminars all over the country, including
Memphis Tennessee.

I guess the piano tuners of that day could not pick the pianos they tuned
like they do today. In that day they had to deal with players because they
were everywhere, either learn to tune and service them or loose business.

ah, the good old days :-)

cheers
Andy Taylor
