<Oooh!>  Robbie, the Yamaha eats the Roland for lunch when it comes
to 88-note piano.  Both are the best out there for sale.  Only these
two synth keyboards have the correct gram weighted keys.

The Roland has more sounds (RD-600) and the Yamaha has the better piano
sound (P-200).  Several other makers have similar products but MMD is
not the place to debate which is "best".  The Yamaha P-40 was not sold
in the USA.  There was at one time a pf-80 sold in the USA but that was
fifteen years ago.

Before anyone makes a comment on my biased opinion you should know
it is based on service experience.  The Kurzweil is the most serviced
88-key piano in our rental fleet.  On any one day we have problems with
one out of three that we use for one-night rentals.  The Roland is by
far the most requested electric piano for rent and has been on the
market the longest.  Another old favorite is a Korg SG1-D that is no
longer made.  The Yamaha is requested most by bands that feature a
piano player.

We do not rent to individuals but only to professional touring bands.
Some travel with their own equipment and some do not, depending if they
are driving or flying here to perform.  We have 40 electric keyboards
in the rental fleet plus the old standby Hammond B-3 organs, which we
still have five of in rental.

 [ newer synth pianos are pretty pleasant to play, when a big vertical
