Origin of Name "Jukebox"
By Dan Wilson, London

My understanding from a friend who had been on holiday to Barbuda was
that the first juke joint was actually one named "the Duke joint" for
workers of a estate of that name there, in turn named after a former
owner. This suggests that there might be a local tradition there worth
following up.
