Origin of Name "Jukebox"
By Tom Lear

Using my favorite search engine www.dogpile.com (all results, no mess),
I typed in "origin of jook joint", and immediately got a referral to
http://www.juke-box.dk/gert-origin.htm The article would indicate
that the automatic record player was named after the joint, not the
other way 'round.

This site contained additional information regarding jook joint &
juke box: http://www.africana.com/
