Piano Technicians Guild
By Bruce Clark

When I was a young man entering the piano field, probably in the late
1950s, I also had a bad experience with PTG.

The first and only meeting I attended was not a pretty sight. It was
saturated with cigar smoke, derogatory remarks about other tuners who
were not members and I was told that I wasting my time trying to
restore players or reproducers and all of them should be torn out and
thrown away. Needless to say, I did not have any incentive to return
to the group.
