Joyland Amusement Park, Wichita KS, Closes
By Marvin Zeigler

-- No Joy at Joyland Park --

Joyland Amusement Park in Wichita, Kansas, has a Wurlitzer Mammoth
band organ. I have enjoyed it for years but they didn't use it for
a couple years. Now the park is closed until next spring -- no more
good music this year.

The park was sold in May 2003 and the new operator can't make loan
payments, pay the help, or pay for supplies. Now the park is closed
until next year when they will probably have a sheriff's sale. I just
hope everything works out and we don't lose this great old organ.
