Pirating Music Rolls

I know for certain two well-known modern roll producers who have copied
contemporary rolls made by others without permission and sold them
under their own label.

With MIDI to roll copying becoming easier, the more recent trend is
MIDI performances being used to make hand-played rolls. This is rather
less of a misdemeanour since the market for one doesn't cut into the
market for the other.
