Prices Realized - Gerald Stonehill Collection
By Laurence Fisher

Most of you saw the delights of this fine collection when it sold
extremely well on the 31st May, but these pieces were not easy to
move. Indeed, the main reason I chose Gerald's house to shoot the
pictures for the catalogue, was to avoid moving everything twice.
And as his home is beautiful, it was the right background.

The movers came and transferred it all directly from there to here
and I must say, if you have not used the following company for
professional, reasonable, careful and punctual moving, I suggest you
give them a call if you buy something you cannot shift yourself:

   G & R Removals, 100 Bollo Lane, London W4 5LX -0044 (0) 8994 9733.

I seldom recommend companies, but I was highly impressed by their
work. In the first call, I simply said, "A Model 12 Weber," and
they jumped in with the measurements of it -- even quoting the
detail of the action.

Just a quick run-down on prices (in lot order from 123-127, sale
No. 4108):  the roll collection made £48,000; the Robot made £5,000;
the Steinway made £40,000; the Weber made £1,900; and the Chinese
roll cabinet finished at £1,500.

The next sale is the 7th November, but I strongly advise those of
you who want to buy the ultimate musical box to give me a call on
0044 (0) 20 7752 3278, or e-mail <lfisher@christies.com>. The full
press feature of this gold musical box with Russian Royal Family
history will be made shortly.

Kind regards to you all,
Laurence Fisher
