Orchestrelle & Aeolian Organ Rolls
By Eliyahu Shahar

I've sent images for the MMD Archives showing the labels of two
58-note Orchestrelle rolls that I recently received.

 [ See http://mmd.foxtail.com/MMMedia/AeoUni/index.html

Both rolls came from the UK. The label of the Elgar Symphony,
roll no. 10377, says "The Orchestrelle company, London, Aeolian
Company, New York"; the leader of this roll is plain paper.

The label of "1812" Overture, roll no. 30801, "The Aeolian Company
Ltd. London and New York" and is on a fancy leader similar to the
65-note roll leader, just narrower.

I was wondering if this is indicative of the Orchestrelle company
in London changing its name, or ??? Can anyone comment on this?

Best regards,
Eliyahu Shahar
