I have been amazed at the way my plans have been interpreted in
particular by model engineers; in fact, amateur organ building for
them is becoming quite a competitive thing.

In the UK we now have a good number of events, either specifically for
us or where we gather together, always having a good time but more and
more often showing off the engineering expertise.  One result of this
year's events will be a joint week's gathering with the Miniature
Steamers in July 2008.

I would like to point out that the beautiful engineers drawings shown
in Wagner's pictures are nothing to do with me -- what you get with my
plans are just carpenter's drawings with mostly wooden, easy-to-make
parts, and the organs made like this work just as well.  However, the
Universal is certainly a project which warrants spending time building.

I have just returned from the Great Dorset Steam Fair.  In our marquee
we had a really good time with about 12 organs, including one fully
engineered and one fully wooden Universal.  I will be putting a few
short videos on YouTube under my username 'gemmadan'.
