Universal Music Roll Has Unusual Spool
By Lance Reed

Dear roll enthusiasts, Here is another roll that I found amongst my
friend's collection of 4000+ rolls that I would like help identifying.
The paper is 11-1/16-inch wide.

The holes in the roll appear to be 6 to the inch spacing and the right
margin of the roll contains printed dynamic marks for changes in volume.
There seems to be quite an amount of space on each margin that is not used;
perhaps the spacing is even less than 6 to the inch. I can't really tell.

You can see from the picture the strange end which appears to be made of
brass and has a recessed rod about 5/8 of an inch within. The opposite
end looks exactly the same. The flanges on the end of the roll appear to
be made out of fiber. So what is it from?
