Hi Group,  I am very pleased with the positive comments about the AMICA
Convention 2008.  I, however, notice one omission.  Having only missed
one planning and work session on the table favor in two years I am
surprised to see no mention of it.  In my biased opinion the table
favor is terrific.

I believe about 20 people worked on the favors, a fair number of them
at most if not all of the work sessions.  For those who did not attend
the convention the table favor is a model of an early Wurlitzer 105
band organ.

The decorations and Wurlitzer logo are laser cut on the façade and drum
shelves.  It is stained to match a dark oak case.  It has three art
panels with scenes of Yosemite.  To get pictures that worked correctly
for the façade Frank and Shirley drove to Yosemite to take them.  The
organ has a top-mounted brass cymbal, a bass drum and a snare drum.

Bill Blair helped design the digital playback system in the model and
recorded each chip in real time.  The recording is a live recording
of "California Here I Come" played on an original Wurlitzer 105.  You
press the button once to start play and again to end play and reset
to the beginning of the song.
