Built-in Welte-Mignon Vorsetzer Pedal Actuators
By David Sharpe

How did the Welte T-100 Vorsetzer operate the sustain and soft pedals?
My US-made Original Welte-Built Vorsetzer came with two pneumatics
which had to be installed inside or under the piano and connected by
tubes to the Vorsetzer when in use. Is this the way the T-100
Vorsetzer worked?

An article by Mark Reinhart in 060318 MMDigest mentions actuators
projecting out from the back of the Vorsetzer, pressing on the pedals.

Photos of a Vorsetzer recently on eBay do not show any interior
mechanism at the back of the unit which might push on the actual
pedals. Perhaps it is attached to the back panel which is not shown,
but that does not seem very likely.

Could the owner or rebuilder of a T-100 Vorsetzer please clarify this?
If the mechanism actually presses the pedals which a live pianist would
use I would be interested in a description of how it works.
