Ridiculous Prices on Piano Rolls
By Larry Norman

Are there ridiculous prices of player piano rolls? I remember
Mike Montgomery, the great collector of player piano rolls, saying
"If you find a player piano roll you have always wanted, buy it
as you may never in your lifetime ever find another copy."

I remember Don Rand always asking to find a certain player piano
roll and he was willing to pay as much as a thousand dollars for it.
I don't remember if he ever got the roll or not.

I once paid over $200 for a roll I wanted and it was not a ragtime
roll, either -- just a common, ordinary 88-note player piano roll --
but I liked the roll.

Often times I have had people on my music roll auctions make maximum
bids over $500.00 as it was a roll they always wanted. None of the
bids ever got that high. That is my two cents worth.

May everyone have a Happy Holiday and hope that next year will be
better than previous years.

Musically,
Larry Norman - from the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains
of Virginia. Still no snow yet.
