Lubricating Pumper Pedal Linkage
By Gordon Stelter

I'd appreciate hearing some opinions regarding what's the best
lubricant for the pump linkages in a Standard brand player system.
I've drilled out the "wallowed out" holes in the linkage setup
where the parts rotated on the pins, and press-fitted bronze
bushings where they were (1/4" long x 1/4" I.D. x 3/8" O.D.).

But before I put the system back together, I was wondering what
folks like to lube it with. (The original, caked-on black stuff
was, I presume, tallow with graphite. But I'd like to use something
"cleaner".)

I was also wondering if anyone has found a convincing replica
for the axle-pins, which are usually about half-worn through by
decades of pumping.

Thanks!
