Here's another update on the Mason & Hamlin saga....
On April 6 of this year an "Emergency Motion For Emergency Hearing and Expedited Determination" was filed by the Mason & Hamlin Corporation.
They are requesting that their previous filing of Chapter 7 be converted to a Chapter 11 filing...
What that means is there's still a breath of hope there.... A chapter 11 filing protects them while they reorganize. Chapter 7 is a liquidation - it's all over.
So this emergency filing asking that the existing Chapter 7 filing be converted to Chapter 11 indicates to me that they've somehow come up with at least a plan to make things right with their creditors - and continue in business. At the moment they are not in business in that they're not producing pianos - or even answering the phone for that matter - - but this new filing certainly opens the door at least to the hope of recovery.
Some good news here - - let's hope it works out.
