Demo Mac MIDI Piano Roll Files Available
By Robbie Rhodes
[ Editor's Note:
[
[ Yesterday evening Robbie sent me two copies of some piano roll
[ demo files which are available for our subscribers to play around
[ with if they would like to. The two "copies" are formatted
[ differrently, one copy for PCs and the other for Macintoshes. The
[ files are each further processed so they can be sent as e-mail. Thats
[ the good news. The bad news is that including them in tonight's digest
[ would make this digest 2200 lines long. Many of you will not have a use
[ for either of these messages. Those that do want to use them will
[ probably want to discard the message which is in the "wrong" format
[ for their personal computer. I'm going to transmit these messages, but
[ as seperate transmissions. They will be easier to delete that way if
[ you don't want them. I'm going to apologize in advance if receiving
[ these large files is a problem for your system. If I get many complaints
[ I'll figure out a way to allow users interested in receiving this kind of
[ thing in the future to send a specific request based on a message similar
[ to the one below.
The succeding message < JeffD.Mac.sea.hqx > will be "The Jefferson Davis"
archive for the Macintosh. The files archived are
• JEFFD .MID - piano roll file only. [Midi]
JEFFDL .MID - piano roll file with Lyrics. [Midi]
JEFFD .DOC - documentation file [TEXT]
JEFFD .LRX - lyrics file [TEXT]
•I used Compact Pro v1.33 to create self-extracting archive JeffD.Mac.sea,
and then used BinHex4 (within Compact Pro) to create file
JeffD.Mac.sea.hqx which can be transmitted with 7-bit Ascii facilities
on the 'net. (It says here....)
Then I tested it, and it works! Will wonders never cease.
