Hi, all...i've read with considerable interest messages on this board.
I am an enthusiast of automatic music machines, my favourites being my
Victrola and Player Piano.
My player mechanism is a Wiilcox and White Duplex Transmission (Angelus
action); in a Brinsmead (Rosewood !) Piano--circa 1911...
I have a problem in that I cannot find an actual service manual for this,
(only a vague booklet from the Kansas Player Piano Co.), nor any technician
specializing in Players in my area (Cherry Hill, NJ)....
Books like A. Riblitz's basically only say that this is a very uncommon
transmission and pneumatic board, and It's beyond my modest mechanical
abilities to figure out the actual locations for all the tubing; or adjusting
the spool (it tends to either freeze if moved too jfar to one side, and if
not, then "stick" during play; and ajustment of the automatic tracking
bar....
Does anyone know where a service manual could be attained, or of a competent
player technician in my area? It's a wonderful soundidng piano, and I'd like
really restore it to as near original condition , or at least good playing
condition as possible....First I just need to know what's involved...
Thanks,
Seth W.
