Jim, I've got the same problem with a similar Standard.  I've taken to
putting little marks (or sometimes a big TIGHTEN NOW) on my big rolls.
Just grab it at the crucial spot, where no one will notice the slight
pause, and then pump on.  Tightening the feed friction didn't seem to
help.
