Museums etc.

The inquiry of Mechtild and Hauke Marxsen about museums and interesting collections in (parts of) the USA and the various answers lead me to this point:
What about a (regular) compilation of these places, to be published in this list (or its FAQ). The DMM journal of the German GSM society always exhibits on its last cover page a similar survey of European places of interest. This list includes addresses and phone numbers. The opening hours are omitted due to the very different schemes of organization. Some places are only opened during certain periods of the year, e.g.

Robin, I think such a compilation could also represent a regular feature of every (or every nth) AMICA bulletin.
