Are Player Pianos Early Computers ?

Two very minor observations that I would like to make. First, Doug Vensel was recently quoted as calling the player piano the first "computer". One of the first would probably be more accurate. I believe that the distinction of being the first "computer" would have to go to the "Jacquard" weaving looms of France, which considerably pre-dated the invention of the player. Secondly, the name of the player action under discussion here recently that was notorious for it pouch pneumatics, was SCHULZ, not SCHULTZ. There was no "T" in Otto's last name. I know, I know, BIG DEAL! So what? Who Cares? Apparently no one. So you can just file this under Totally Useless Information!
