MIDI File 68283b.mid
By Robbie Rhodes

Hi John! "Down Under", I believe!

I received the Midi file on my Macintosh, then put the file on a DOS-formatted disk and carried it to the PC. (I'm told that this communication method is called "SneakerNet"!) At the PC I used the shareware utility "UNPOST" to perform UUdecode. The resulting file had some funny name, so I just renamed it XXX.ZIP. The extension, ".ZIP", is what PKUNZIP utility is looking for. At the prompt I typed "PKUNZIP XXX", and it came out fine.

The UNPOST utility doesn't detect transmission errors, so possibly that's the problem you're experiencing. If so, send a note requesting retransmission to Jody at rollreq@foxtail.com. Also -- ask your e-mail service provider for advice about the best way to transmit and receive long binary files. Jody can probably fix you up with any common formats.

Best regards, Robbie Rhodes
