Polishing Question

I'm just after any info on re-polishing Piano's - is there any trick's to applying a laquar finish to get a high gloss finish. I've done shellac finishing before but if you ask me thats to much like hard work.(and it's not as durable) In other words I'm after the best job the easiest way!( I suppose you'll all tell me to pay some other mug to do it!!!)
