Re: Just Tuning for the Wurlitzer 150

Regarding William Finch's comments in Digest 96.11.30:

1. Do you know whether a W150 organ will sound better (or worse) with just tuning rather than equal temperament? The object here is to try it and find out, but if you or someone else has already done it, it would be interesting to hear the results.

2. The Wurlitzer 150 scale organs are very limited musically, but properly tuned and with superior arrangements they can be quite pleasing. If Just tuning will improve things, so much the better.

3. I agree that moving the organ to rallies will mistune it. However, from what I have seen, for every band organ that is taken to rallies, there are at least ten that never leave home. Most of the latter are kept in good environments: reasonably stable temperature and humidity, little dust, few bugs. Once tuned they should be okay for quite a while.
