Re: Wood Pipe Specifications
By Ron Schmuck

I have a large collection of many different scales which we have copied from original pipes from fair- band- and dance-organs over the last 20 years. We copy the information from each pipe onto what is called a "scale stick". A ruler to measure the parts is rarely used in a pipe shop. Just use your protractors to copy the length from the scale stick to adjust your table saw, or what ever part you are making. I also use proportional dividers for the mouth work.

If someone needs something special let me know. If you have missing pipes the scale stick lets you create the correct measurements. We (or one of our associates) can also make the reed tongues and shallots for the various stops, from Trumpets to Bass Trombones.

Merry Christmas to all
