Sale of the Sadie Mae
By Marty Roenigk

Ron Bopp inquired about the whereabouts of "Sadie Mae" which Disney World owned. This machine was included in the 21 machines that we purchased from Disney World last month. Sadie Mae was reportedly once a 99-key barrel operated Gavioli that was converted to book music at the factory. There was an enormous amount of book music with it, some 150-170 books. It had a lot of brass trumpets, similar to a Wurlitzer Monster in appearance. We sold this to a Midwestern collector who will have to decide himself if he wants to disclose its whereabouts, since we do not disclose the names of our customers.

For future reference, our purchase included other notables: The Wurlitzer Concert PianOrchestra Style 32; North Tonawanda Sextrola; "The Emperor", a large Mortier that is perhaps the best known organ in America, having been featured in the Paul Eakins Gay Nineties museum as well as Disney World and having a number of 33rpm records made of it; Mills Double Violano Virtuoso; Wurlitzer 148; Caliola; Wurlitzer C'; Seeburg H Orchestrion; "Eakins Special" Coinola Reproduco, etc, etc. The Concert PianOrchestra, double Violano, Mortier, and a number of other pieces have already been resold by us.

A complete list of the pieces we bought is on our website:
