BAB History
By Matthew Caulfield

Fred Dahlinger, Jr., historian at the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin, is certainly one of the persons Marc Elbasani should talk with in researching the BAB Organ Company. Fred is generous with his time and information, unlike some of the other potential BAB history sources (notably the descendants of Senator Bovey).

Marc, "Borna" is incorrect, and you should take pains to set that record straight. The founders of the company were Ervista Bona and Andrew Antoniazzi, joined later by Dominic Brugnolotti. I realize Reblitz and Bowers both record Ervista's name as "Borna", but they are wrong. Fred Dahlinger alerted me to the correct spelling, and I subsequently saw a street piano at a band organ rally which had the original Bona & Antoniazzi decal on it. The Brugnolotti family may be able to produce further corroboration of this small but important fact.

Incidentally, I have seen Brugnolotti's first name spelled with and without a "k" at the end. You should check on that too when you next contact his family.
