Carousel Becquart Organ
By Matthew Caulfield

Bjorn (an Isbjorn, perhaps, from Scandinavia?), the Carousel Becquart organ is the same one a recording of which Marc Elbasani was asking for a couple of Digests back. You seem to know about that organ. Could you tell everything you know about it, either to the list or to me? I am interested in the organ, its past and present locations, recordings made of it, and also Schollaert, who was mentioned on the jacket of the one recording I have as arranger of the music.

The jacket was a little hokey (as many band organ jackets are) and I had the impression that the illustration of the organ on that jacket was more fantasy than fact, resembling an orchestrion more than a band organ, but one that would never be operable if the drawing of it re- flected its actual design. Why do design artists feel it's okay to lie to the public so pointlessly?
