Associated with the MMD, there are currently two non-moderated, non-digestified mailing lists for side topics. One for MMD members who are actively involved in Web authoring. The second is for MMD members interested in software emulation of reproducing piano mechanisms. These groups are intended to provided a place for scholarly discussion or specific topics without boring the rest of the group.
I'd like to propose a third such unmoderated mailing list for the purpose of discussing computer topics. For instance, issues regarding how to get a particular sound board to work with a particular software package. I'd like to specifically encourage all readers with knowledge or interest in Linux to subscribe to this list. I've got an ulterior motive here: Robbie and I are personally experimenting with Linux, and we've not yet figured out how to make sound boards or MIDI boards work with Linux. Conversations will not be limited to Linux.
