Miniature Electric Valve
By Phil Dayson

I can perhaps add a little info about the Ragtime miniature electric
valves. I received some samples of these valves a couple of days ago.
I would confirm Mr. Goodman's remarks. Some of the valves as received
seem erratic in their operation. I have just spoken to Ken from Ragtime
and mentioned this complaint (he is not on the Internet). He said that
a modified version of the valve is now available and that this should
correct any problem. He also said that Ragtime does their own plastic
molding and can quickly respond to any needed (or wanted) changes.

On the positive side, the valve appears to be of very clever design, is
very small, seems to work in any position, has good air flow, and can be
tubed for vacuum or pressure operation. I have tried it on a piano, on a
20-note grind organ and on a small band organ. In every case the valve
appears to work well.

As soon as I get the modified version of the valve I will carry out some
more detailed testing.
