Autoscore Tone Recognition Program
By Beatrice Robertson

Dear Scott, I have this program and have not used it much yet, but it's
biggest drawback is that it can only recognize one note at a time. It
does work, given this major limitation, but requires some creative
microphone work to get any recognition on music boxes, which is still
what I would like to do. I'll play with it some more and report back.

If we can get a response from some of the more sophisticated techies in
the group, I am under the impression that there are better tone
recognition programs available. Do any of you know of any programs that
could be tested with the idea of reading the music on music boxes?

I'll be looking forward to some response!

[ Autoscore is the only program I know of which even attempts this
[ task. (I suggested "Recognition" in Digest 970428; "WAV" is a
[ better search word.) -- Robbie
