Music Rolls on Coloured Paper
By Adam G. Ramet

Rob Deland's great article yesterday on Music Roll History commented on
the thicker paper used in Connorized rolls. I wonder if anyone can tell
me why Chase and Baker cut some of their rolls on grey paper? I have a
few Chase and Baker 65-note rolls cut from this stuff. It has the colour
of graphite and has a similar shine. The few people I have asked over
the years are as puzzled as I am. Apart from Welte and QRS Xmas rolls,
how common are rolls on coloured papers? I saw a 65-note roll cut on
dark green paper once. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
