Una Furtiva Lagrima
By Jim Heyworth

Hi Herbert,

With regard to your query,

> Could some tell me please if there has ever been a roll of Una Furtiva
> Lagrima and if they know whether it is available new."

It seems that Donizetti's compositions are infrequently represented on
piano roll.

After searching the Ampico, Duo-Art, Welte and 1932 Pianola catalogues,
(they are all that I have at hand) two _possibilities_ turn up.

The first is that it may be part of a potpourri arrangement by Cramer
"L'Elisire d'amour" on Pianola full-scale roll 20728.

The second, which is probably the piece in question but I have no way of
knowing for sure (except that the anatomy is almost right), is Ampico roll
"L'Elisire d'amour (When Stealing Down Her Pallid Cheek) played by Howard
Brockway, No. 51684F.

I rather doubt that a new roll will currently be available.

Hope this might be of some help.
