Triola Roll-Playing Zither
By Marty Roenigk

John Wolf inquired about the Triola roll-playing zither. These are very
interesting and very scarce instruments. We have only had two over the
past 25 years of dealing in mechanical music, and I have seen another three
or four come up at auction.

I would expect that a good one, with a half dozen rolls, might sell today
in the $3000-$3500 range and would be a reasonable purchase at that price.

They seem most likely to be found in the London auctions. While it is far
from unique in terms of small mechanically operated string instruments,
it is a lot of fun.
