For the record, the comments in a recent message regarding "American" vs.
"European" reed organs was just reversed.  The American type were vacuum
operated and the European type (usually called harmoniums) were pressure
operated.  In the later years of the reed organ era, many European makers
produced vacuum operated or "American" reed organs.
