Gottschalk Piano Rolls
By Wayne Stahnke

This note is intended for Larry Lobel. As before, I am posting it here
(rather than privately) because the correspondence may be of interest to
other members of the Digest.

Larry, the Gottschalk rolls that I have located (some, but not all, of
which I have already borrowed and scanned) are all Welte-Mignon Licensee
rolls. They are as follows:

      6242 "The Last Hope," Gottschalk/Davis,
      6294 "Ricordati" (Nocturne), Gottschalk/Hart,
      7109 "The Union," Gottschalk/Patricolo,
      7142 "Home, Sweet Home," Milan-Gottschalk/Patricolo,
7171 "Miserere" (from Il Trovatore), Verdi-Gottschalk/Serli,
      7442 "The Banjo," Gottschalk/Patricolo.

The Licensee rolls that I have been unable to locate thus far are as
follows:

      7390 "Grand Scherzo," Gottschalk/Patricolo,
7415 "The Battle Cry of Freedom," Gottschalk/Patricolo.

I have not made any attempts at locating the Ampico, Duo-Art, or T-100
Welte-Mignon rolls. If you can find any of these, have them sent to me
and I will scan them for you.

With best regards,

Wayne Stahnke
