Keystone Music Rolls
By Robin Pratt

I have found the owners of Keystone to be very accommodating and
supportive. They are often difficult to contact, but when you do
they are certainly receptive.

Owner Richard Groman's mother, Mae, died last winter and she had been
handling *all* of the correspondence for the company. The perforators
were rebuilt, die plates sharpened and quality is definitely improved.
The rolls sold at the Mart at the AMICA Convention in Sandusky are
first-class and obviously put through the rolls cleaner before being
boxed.

This has been the biggest problem in the recent past: dirty rolls. Or in
other words, you got a 3-D New Year's Eve event whenever you played a
roll: snow showers and confetti ! A real disaster with a suction-
operated mechanism.

Things seem to have improved. So have the selections in the "Warm
Weather Catalogue." Some new things and old reliable.

Spencer, the John Powell recordings are first rate, however I don't think
I would try to compare them to the highly edited Hofman records. They
are excellent though. Give it a try.
