Dave Dibley's Pianola Shop in Brighton
By Jeffrey Borinsky

I recently visited this shop for the first time and had a *long* and
interesting chat with David. He was rightly upset about having to
refinish a lovely mahogany case piano in black for a "discerning" >:(
customer. But the customer is paying.

Despite being a computer buff, and busy setting up a web site, he
appeared to be unaware of the MMD! I enlightened him and I hope that
he is now a subscriber.

Well worth a visit if you are in the Brighton area. The shop is on
Islingward Road, off the Lewes Road, just over half a mile north of the
Pavilion (you may need a map to find it) and you can park right outside.

P.S. I do not usually use double spaces between sentences, but just for
you guys...

 [ Editor's note:
 [
[ You are also a prince, Jeffrey! I know -- "the books" say to use
[ a single-space between sentences. But the old-time standard for
[ mono-spaced text (as on a typewriter) was two spaces. It's
[ also easier reading when printed on a Hellscreiber or Siemens or
[ Teletype(R) teleprinter machine, or when viewed with a "dumb terminal"
[ mode and a CGA video adapter. Someday we may publish the Digest with
[ Rich Text Format (RTF) or HTML. Then it will be as pretty as those
 [ glossy web sites.
 [
[ Like our hobby, we editors at MMD are also a bit old-fashioned
[ and still have a typewriter handy for addressing envelopes! ;)
