Premier Player Grand Welte
By Robin Pratt

Hi All, I am in the process of doing a full restoration on a Premier as
we speak. It is a Welte-Mignon Licensee from about 1929. Although some
think of it as a "low end" instrument, very few instruments produced in
the era of the Premier were as bad as many being sold today.

Although not a "world class" piano by any stretch, it is solid and
reliable, plus the owner loves it and loves that she has rescued it
(along with her Chickering Ampico upright, her Marshall and Wendell
Ampico A grand (5'8"!) and her walnut art case Weber Duo-Art. When
completed it will be a match for just about any of the others in the
state.

Hope this response doesn't put a damper on the mood of the moment here,
since it was recently relayed to me from someone at the MBSI Convention
that I always seem to do just that when I write in response to articles
posted here. Happy days.

Robin Pratt
