Playrola Roll-playing Pocket Organ
By Angelo Rulli

Brian Chesters noted that he has seen a Playrola in a red plastic case.
This is interesting. The only red case similar toy I know of is stamped
"NOR-COS POCKET ORGAN" on the reverse side. It is similar in size to the
original tin-plate Playrola. It is made entirely of plastic except for
the reeds. It plays the identical roll of the original Playrola. It
appears to be from the 1960s.

Mine came in what appears to be the original box. It is plain with no
marks or stampings of any kind. It also has a small sheet of instruc-
tions, typewritten on a typewriter of the day and mimeographed. At the
end of the instructions is the following: "For additional rolls, see your
dealer." This suggests the toy was legitimately distributed.

I would like to know more about the plastic Playrola, if that's possible.
