Hammacher Schlemmer is a chain which sells a variety of luxury goods,
similar to The Sharper Image.

They have a shop on Michigan Avenue in Chicago with one of these
orchestrions on display in the window.  There is no sign that it is
ever played, and I have been thinking of walking in and asking for a
demonstration.  (Maybe a few local enthusiasts would like to join me?)

Frankly, though, the thing looks like it is cheaply constructed, so I
am not expecting much.
