Gustave Kobbe' was a renown lecturer and author on musical topics early
this century.  His opera and classical music books are still on the
shelves in your bookstore.  What is not so readily available is his "The
Pianolist"  which, in book form, does exactly what you require.  You
might well wonder what could take an entire book to describe, but there
is little wasted space.
