I heartily agree with Craig about (loud) pedaling.  Without it the music
sounds dry.  Many years ago I decided to arrange my own performances
just as I play them live, and that requires snappy pedal action.  The
local player techs advised me, "Evaluate your roll on a Duo-Art or
Pianola piano, because it's fast.  Then check the effect on the Ampico A,
which has very sluggish pedal movement."

I like the sound of my rolls when played on a good Aeolian pumper,
especially if it has snakebites for Themodist/Solodant.  (Nobody is
interested in playing my rolls on an Ampico, anyway!)
