Sam Harris asked about the song, "I love to sing-a".  Here's what I
remember.

In 1944 we kids were offered free admission to a cartoon collection at
a local movie house in return for getting smallpox vaccinations.  The
cartoons were for the most part made by Tex Avery.  One of the cartoons
featured a ridiculous short round character who wanted to be in show biz.
He was so bad that he kept getting yanked off stage.  Every opportunity
this guy would get back on stage and sing:

I love to sing-a, About the Moon-a and the June-a
    and the Spring-a,
I love to sing-a, About "Tea for Two" and "I Love You"
    and no body else in the world will do.
I --- love -- to sing.

The character never got through the song any more than that.  I remember
the melody.

I never heard the song before or since and always assumed that it was
written as a comedy piece for this cartoon.  How I remember this much
is beyond me.
