Hotel Piano Surprise
By Rob DeLand

I was in a hotel lobby recently in the Chicago area, and I heard a small
grand playing. Not great, but not terrible either. Nobody was paying
any attention (go figure). You know, not only do most people not know
the difference between a tuned and out-of-tune piano, I bet most people
are too cool to acknowledge piano music in public! It ain't rap ... but
I digress.

Anyway, as I approached the piano I saw it was a Yamaha, and that the
disk mechanism was on the left end of the keyboard rather than the usual
right end. That seemed strange, but when I got sufficiently close I was
surprised to see that the player was a PianoDisc!!

I realize this note isn't terribly profound, I just thought it was odd
and someone might enjoy hearing about it. I'll go away now!

Cheers,
Rob
