Help Identify Wurlitzer 165 Tunes
By Matthew Caulfield

This week I put together on one cassette the 34 Wurlitzer band organ
tunes (32 from style 165 rolls and 2 from style 180 rolls, because I
had room on the tape for the 180 band organ tunes too) that I asked
your help in identifying. I will be mailing out the cassettes to those
who volunteered their help this weekend.

Robbie has also volunteered to try to convert them to MIDI files so
they can be transmitted over the Internet.

[ I said I would make a simple MIDI transcription which indicates the
[ melody, perhaps also suitable for music manuscript. We still don't
[ know a practical way to convert an audio recording to MIDI. :)
 [ -- Robbie

If the people who volunteered to take tapes will send me their
email address, I will put together an email network so that I can send
you all whatever identifications come out of the group as they come.

[ If you wish, Matthew, Jody could establish a list-server for this
[ purpose, "mmd-tunes". It would broadcast the correspondence and
[ MIDI files to all on your list. I'll ask Jody. -- Robbie

[ I will undertake the task of converting the tunes on the cassette
[ into Real Audio format and put them on the Website. I will also,
[ at that time, provide a mail forwarding service simliar to what
[ I'm doing for the MMD Web Authors and Emulation groups.
